Birthday Party Weekend!

The kids had their birthday party this weekend! We had it at a local rec center's pool that can be rented out for parties. I would totally recommend it for a stress free party that the kids will love! Here are a few pictures...

The cakes...Christian airbrushed the side of this one for me (with food color, of course!) The design idea for this one came from a washcloth that Dylan had. He brought it to me and asked me to make his cake look like that! Hmmm...I tried my best!

And Trinity is all about the peace signs these days so her request was peace signs and smiley faces!

We had so much fun! I am now going to lay out by the pool all day...enjoy your holiday!

I forgot

To post these pictures!
These are actually from the weekend of Mother's Day. We had a little family party for Trinity and celebrated Mother's Day with both of our Moms. Here is her cake..

And here is a cake that was ordered by a loving husband for his wife on her first Mother's Day. She was very surprised and said she loved it!
PS. I will soon be starting another blog that just has my cake pictures on it. I will let you know when that is done (still trying to come up with a cute name...how do you feel about Crunkcakes?? Lol) and this one will just be back to the family things.
PPS. Yes, I still am doing hair! Everyone keeps asking me that. May is a busy month for both of my part time jobs :)

Busy Brays

I am not doing very well at this blogging thing am I?
hmmmm....
I have several blogs that I have started sitting in the draft pile waiting to be finished and just haven't had the time to do it.
So here is some of what we have been up to recently..
Trinity and Dylan had a Race For Education day at their school. Some of you got letters in the mail from them about this fundraiser for their school. It was a huge success and raised a lot of money that goes directly into the school. The weather was perfect!

Trinity even got Daddy out there for a lap or two...
Then they got to play!

Eva and I worked on another cake together. This one for her husband, Abe. We were celebrating his 31st birthday!
An I phone cake with a few specialized apps....the third row is a Cigar App, a Nascar app, a Beer App and a Holy Bible App. We thought the combination of these apps was pretty funny....
Birthday boy didnt want to cut the cake, which means he liked it!
We all headed over to the brand NEW theater in town!! So exciting! It is soooo nice and less expensive than the others around us. We saw Star Trek, everyone else loved it! I liked it...but I have never actually seen the show so it wasn't as cool to me I suppose. I feel asleep a few times ;)
Saturday morning I made this cake for Michael's baby bro Lance's 30th bday. It was a surprise party and a Luau theme. Mom had her house decorated very nicely, felt like we were in Hawaii!

London likes my cupcakes!
So, what are the kids up to?
Well, Christian just bought an air compressor. I really have no idea what exactly that is but I know he uses it for tools that he has for his car. He was smart and patient and found this one for a great price on Craigs list...still includes a warranty even.
What he has been using the most is the airbrush set...just practicing on stuff.

Dylan has been consumed by a book report for the last few weeks. He read To Kill A Mockingbird and had to do a 10 minute presentation along with a 3 page summary, historical content paper and timeline with pictures. He loved the book! And we had to condense his presentation because the first time through he took 22 minutes!!
Thank goodness that is over and now the fun begins (Field Day, Awards Ceremony, end of the Year parties and Summer!! Yea!)
Also, his assignment for guitar this week is to write a song. Pretty cool, huh? His teacher is the coolest.

And Trinity...is just being Trinity :)
Our little social butterfly. She is getting ready for her upcoming dance recital on June 14th.

I am busy getting ready for the kids birthday parties this weekend..pictures of that soon!

Playing for Change

A friend of mine told me about this....it is incredible!
Playing for Change Explained: "Playing for Change is a multimedia movement created to inspire, connect, and bring peace to the world through music. The idea for this project arose from a common belief that music has the power to break down boundaries and overcome distances between people. No matter whether people come from different geographic, political, economic, spiritual or ideological backgrounds, music has the universal power to transcend and unite us as one human race. And with this truth firmly fixed in our minds, we set out to share it with the world."
These musicians had never met each other but performed "together" all over the world...

There are a few more videos on Youtube (this one is my favorite!)...and they have a CD for sale at Starbucks.

When life hands you a rainy day(week), kick off your shoes and dance in it!

Dylan, Trinity and Cali at Grammy and Pop's house yesterday.
I absolutely love this picture that Pop's took. The kids said it was sooooo fun!

Nothing but cakes...

Looking back through my camera, there are only recent pictures of cakes!
First one is actually the latest one I have done..haven't even delivered it yet. It is for Trinity's best friend, Christa! She helped me design what she wanted...I was actually a little suprised (but impressed) that she wanted this style. She has great taste at age 8!  Top layer strawberry, bottom is Chocolate. Cupcakes are a combination of both.

These were for a little six year old bug enthusiast ! Chocolate all around!

And lastly, a baby shower cake. I have to mention that I had help with this one...my friend Eva was hosting the shower and wanted to come over and help me put it together. Our kids played together while we made this. It was a lot of fun to have someone to talk to..and she was a huge help and a real natural! Thanks Eva :) Oh, chocolate and vanilla!
