In the Kitchen

Seems like we have been spending a lot of time in the kitchen lately!
Christian, Landry and I made pasta for the first time the other day! I got a pasta press for my birthday and had never used it. Shame on me. I wanted to and kept saying I was going to. We finally did! I recruited Christian and Landry and the teamwork began. It was actually easier than I thought! We definitely had to learn through trial and error but we did make pasta (spaghetti) and it was very tasty. I am sure we will get better each time...and I cant wait to do it again.

Trinity thoroughly enjoying the pasta!
Here are some cakes that I have done recently. Every time I make one, I learn something new and it gets a little easier. Once I am done, I cant wait to start a new one. Unfortunately, we cannot just eat cake all week long. So I must wait and only make cakes for special occasions (and apparantly Friday is not a special occasion)
A week ago, we hosted a birthday party for our kids two grandmothers, Grandma and Grammy. Their birthdays are less than a week apart. Christy and the kids came from Lousiana and Misty and the boys came from Oklahoma. Add the family members who already live here and it was quite a party! Here are the cakes.....
I wanted the Moms to each have their own cake so I made two.
Grandma had a triple chocolate and strawberry cake. Grammy's was a vanilla and strawberry.
I had some icing left over so I decorated some sugar cubes with flowers (that is what is in the middle on the plate).

This next one was for Kaylee Mease's 12th birthday. It was all triple chocolate cause chocolate is a girl's best friend...and sassy sweet cause that it just Kaylee!
